Number:

 This image could be linked to the mathematical idea of number due to the fact that each side of the die represents a number from one to six. The numbers shown on the dice could be used to create algorithms involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. For the younger years, dice could be used as a visual representation to practice counting and simple addition and subtraction.

Chance and Data:

 This image is also linked to the chance and data aspect of mathematics because when a dice is rolled or thrown there is an equal chance that any one of the numbers from one to six will be shown (1 in 6 chance). Through the use of a dice, children can explore tallies and graphs and percentages obtained from the random data collected from the roll of the dice.
